Navi joined Malaspina in 2016 and currently serves as an Assistant Controller. In this role, he oversees, manages, and develops staff accountants and their workflows. He interacts with and supports the CFOs and CEOs of client companies, as well as senior management at Malaspina, with a view to directly managing client files and relationships.
Navi’s responsibilities include overseeing general ledgers and underlying accounting transactions, preparing quarterly and annual financial statements and MD&As, and reviewing working papers supporting financial statements and MD&As. He also manages other regulatory reporting, the audit/review processes with external auditors, and liaises with external tax advisors.
He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Accounting from BCIT and is currently enrolled in the CPA PEP program.
Navi has an entrepreneurial spirit, having recently co-founded a successful small business with a colleague. Passionate about sports and athletics, he enjoys coaching aspiring track and field athletes in shot put and discus, disciplines in which he was nationally ranked.
